We finally got to see the main waterfall in Gulf Creek on Christmas Day, 2002, following a beautiful hike in 12" of new snow down the creek from Ruth's Waterfall. This is a wonderfully impressive and remote waterfall with banks rising 150 feet around the large amphitheatre that gives the creek its name. It is hard to believe that there are houses and a highway less than 200 yards away beyond the crest of the waterfall. We'll stick with our estimate of the height of this waterfall of 65 feet. There is a second waterfall of 6' just behind the photographer. We've named this waterfall after an ancestor of the landowner.
