The next day we drove to Stewart Park in
Ithaca, at the south end of Cayuga Lake. In the distance, you can see
Portland Point where Gulf Creek enters the Lake. Ruth's Waterfall is
600 feet (180m) higher up and behind the hill you see in the foreground.
Most of the storm debris that enters the lake south of Taughannock
Point ends up here by the prevailing winds. We wondered if we would
find any traces of The Bridge here but found none that we recognized.
This tree was probably not the one that hit The Bridge (I don't remember
seeing any roots), but it is about the same size.
