Don't be too concerned about the name of "Rattlesnake Point." Although the entire lower Genesee Gorge was infested with rattlesnakes when the first settlers arrived in the 18th century, rattlesnakes have not been seen in the Rochester and Fingerlakes area for more than 100 years.
