What's New

Looking downstream from Lower Falls Park, you can see the Driving Park Bridge, the RG&E generating plant, and the Kodak Hawkeye building, along with the lower gorge of the Genesee River. The river is fairly flat between here and Lake Ontario, about 6 river miles to the north.

You can just see the ventilation tower on the right edge of the picture. This is where the tunnel from the Middle Falls drops to the turbines in the power plant and the base of these falls. The electric company is limited in the amount of water it can divert, so there is always some water flowing over the Lower Falls.
