What's New

This is the view north from the Court St. Bridge of the rapids above the Upper Falls. The Broad St. bridge still contains the abandoned aqueduct which once carried the Erie Canal through the middle of Rochester and over the Genesee River. In later years it carried our subway and rail traffic to downtown businesses. The Main St. bridge is a few hundred yards beyond. The Upper Falls are on the other side of downtown, about a half mile from here. Lake Ontario is about 7 river miles north of downtown.
