The Comb Ridge slickrock is a huge gallery of erosion.
The effects of wind, water, and ice erosion are visible
in incredible variety on both micro and macro scales.
This chain of tiny potholes may someday (in
a few hundred thousand years, maybe) become a 100-foot
deep
canyon.
On one hike, we saw a feature like this with each
pothole filled with ice. In the early morning sunlight
it looked like a diamond necklace spread across the
rock.
