This photo was taken a week before an accident that killed one and injured three members of a family that was doing what the children are here—playing on the rocks on the far side of the plunge pool. The mass of rock in the upper right corner of the alcove was the probable cause of the accident. Rock falls are a continuous process in these gullies and hikers and visitors need to be aware of the danger.
