This is one of the biggest erratic boulders we've seen. It probably
came from northern Canada during the last ice age and was buried until
recently (within the last 50 years or so) when it fell into this
gully. Once exposed to freezing and thawing, this giant granite boulder
will break up into smaller pieces in a few tens of years. |
