Only the lower half of Hidden Falls is visible as you approach the waterfall from downstream. This waterfall is aptly named* since the gully (a small tributary of Gulf Creek) doesn't look promising from the bottom; it's filled with fallen trees and overgrown with weeds and not much water in the summer. The waterfall is around the corner and in a deep, narrow gully. But in the early spring, the waterfall is quite a surprise when you first see it.
*According to Scott Ensminger, Stephen Tobin has also heard this waterfall referred to as "Hemmed-In Hollow Falls." |
